It always saddens me to visit this river and falls, as I must drive by my old friend’s home who passed away from cancer three years ago. Tom and Sharon built a beautiful two story log home using their own logs and sawmill right next to the Jumbo River. Sharon is finishing up the home and it is simply beautiful in every detail. Tom would be proud of her.
The weather has cooled and the deer are moving again. Three buck in the shooting lane when I returned home and walked back to check the game camera. My son and brother should do well. As is usual until snow, it is lawn cutting day tomorrow, but Sunday may allow for a trip to the Keweenaw, with a chance of rain in the afternoon. Sometimes working between thunderstorms produces moments of the best squall light.
