This property is just a mile or so from my farmhouse and has been vacant for a bit, while for sale. I took advantage and shot a half dozen exposures of barn and rusted equipment detail. You would think that after living in the same neighborhood for seven years, I would have exhausted all photo opportunities, but that has been anything but the case. Just before shooting this farm, I was at another I have visited a few times to shoot an old hay rake. Walking further on the abandoned property, I discovered a plethora of antiques, buildings, and even a pond I did not know was there. Nothing quite like “crusin’ for snaps” as Fred Picker used to say.
“Priceless things matter not for their value, but because they offer us an enduring reminder of stability and permanence.”
