We in the Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan were onto the doorstep of spring, with all but eight inches of snow in the woods when today, we have another 12 on the way with current winds at 40mph. Rauhallinen Farm has stone walls near three feet thick, like a fortress, but I can hear the howling as I write. A combination of heavy wet snow and freezing rain will require 4WD tomorrow. The pellet stove is keeping the family room cozy where I will retire with my latest read, “Unsheltered” by Barbara Kingsover, to relax in the glow and warmth of the fire for the evening. Just received a batch of Ilford Pan F, Fomapan 100, and Portra 160….ready for the weekend and the road.
