One of the influences in my art, has not been a photographer, but painter Andrew Wyeth. From the time I was an undergraduate, his stark and minimalist paintings fascinated me. In that spirit, I shot a roll of Tri-X on Sunday in 30F and fog-perfect weather for the lovely midtones with this film and developer combination to shine. I first learned to develop film with this combination and would be heartbroken if it were to disappear like so many other Kodak classics (panatomic X, Plus X, Verichrome Pan, etc.} . If Plus X were still made by Kodak, it would have been my choice on this day.
“Love is a decision, it is a judgment, it is a promise. If love were only a feeling, there would be no basis for the promise to love each other forever. A feeling comes and it may go. How can I judge that it will stay forever, when my act does not involve judgment and decision.”
― Erich Fromm, The Art of Loving
