0550 and Eric just walked out the back door, headed down the woods path to his deer blind. Raining quite hard, so I am sure he will not see much until it attenuates. The warm weather has left the U.P. until next June, as we often has snow by Halloween, or shortly thereafter. I am looking forward to returning to ice fishing, after a three year hiatus following my fall and three shoulder replacement surgeries. I can now manage the ice auger. Fresh Bluegills, Crappies, and Perch from our pristine lakes are a welcome meal on a chilly winter eve.
Sad news yesterday in an email from Polaroid Originals-they will be discontinuing making film for the Spectra. One email and my Spectra Pro is now a bookend. I miss the days of the real Polaroid Corporation and their real film. This startup has been fraught with quality control issues and exceptionally ridiculous prices. I am glad that the bulk of my work remains in medium and large format film, which is competitively priced and manufactured by many companies, giving choices and an environment in which competition forces fairness.
