Time to get the oil changed on the snowblower and get her tuned up for her sixth year of moving snow here at Rauhallinen Farm. If you are looking to buy a snowblower or lawn tractor, I cannot speak highly enough of the Ariens brand. Here in the land of seven months of winter, Ariens is the undisputed sales leader, with many folks having 20+ year old models that are still doing their work winter after winter. I enjoy having the plug in electric start that saves a lot of pulling in those cold dark mornings and evenings.
I need to get the lawn cut and leaves chopped up this weekend, in addition to deer hunting, such that time behind the lens will be either limited or non-existent. Working full time makes for too few hours to both get chores done and still have time for the joyful activities. Having company for two weeks also cut into my schedule for getting things done.
Hard to believe we are approaching November in a few weeks. That is a month that has some emotional ties for me.
“Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove.
O no, it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wand'ring barque,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.”
― William Shakespeare, Great Sonnets
