A Kodachrome 64 slide from many years ago when my parents were alive and living at Lost Lake Woods in Lincoln, MI (south of Alpena). A place under consideration for my retirement location, as there is less snow to deal with and much wilderness. I caught a seven pound Largemouth Bass in this remote lake (no motors allowed) within the club, which thrilled my father who was fishing with me. The water was crystal clear so it was easy to spook fish if you were not stealth.
I had a conversation with the folks (Naomi) at Intrepid Camera in England yesterday and she noted that my 8x10 should be shipped the end of the month. I am hoping it will arrive in time to make a nice portrait of Dr. Eric with a buck after he arrives for archery season on the 5th of October. Sent the baby to be a gift from NPR yesterday:
For the youngest progressive/liberal to be in the family. Brings to mind my oldest daughter coming home from college in Missoula Montana many years ago and stating, "I was driving to class the other day, listening to NPR and drinking my coffee, and it dawned on me, Shit! I have turned into my parents!" Today all three of them are socially conscious with good hearts and a strong sense of progressive values. Madeline, the youngest, has been residing in Washington D.C. for a number of months, where she is in an internship for her Gerald Ford School of Public Policy at University of Michigan and working full time as a lobbyist.
