Early to bed this evening as tomorrow I must travel near two hours Southeast to Rhinelander, WI, to help out in another VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic where we currently have no mental health providers. The concern in the blackness of early morning hours, as I discovered last winter on my way to Mayo Clinic, is deer. They have me scheduled every hour so the weekend will be much appreciated. If the weather proves adequate on Sunday, time for a return trip to the Keweenaw Peninsula to shoot the Harman Titan 4x5 pinhole, both Rollei’s (3.5F and T), and perhaps Holga 120N. I am still much less patiently waiting for my Intrepid 8x10 to be built and delivered from England, but I have doubts weather I will see it before Thanksgiving or later. It will be a cool to cold Sunday with a high in the low 40’s predicted. Time for fingerless gloves while shooting and very soon time for down and fleece layers. Looking forward to winter photography in the Gogebic Range on snowshoes.
Just got word that my mother-in-law passed away earlier this evening. She has been struggling in a care facility with advanced COPD for a couple of months. She was 95 and a brilliant scientist (chemist) and liberal. Regardless of my circumstances, she was always kind and supportive. Glad she is not struggling to breath any longer.
