I ordered an E6 color reversal film processing chemical kit from Freestyle, in addition to a couple of rolls of Fujichrome Velvia 50-the slowest and most saturated color slide film for landscape. I want to be proficient at shooting both color print (for a more muted look) and color slide film when headed to California early next year to visit my two oldest children. While black and white will continue to be my primary choice on the trip, there are so many grand landscapes where we are headed that it will be nice to have choices and do both. I learned about the differences and when to choose Porta over Velvia from watching Ben Horne videos on YouTube.
The weather is now officially Fall here in the Western UP. The Maples are first to turn red concomitant to our daytime temperatures dropping to the point of needing a jacket in the early morning and evening. In fact, when I get home from the gym this evening and start dinner, I suspect I will need to fire up the pellet stove for her maiden voyage of the season to warm up the downstairs of Rauhallinen Farm.
How time flies. I just got the invitation to attend Madeline’s (youngest daughter) graduation from the University of Michigan in May of 2019. Seems like she was just an anxious Freshman.
