I have not run out of things to photograph in this old barn down the road. With half of the roof in holes for a number of years, there is a layer of grime over everything. I feel I need to shower when done with a shoot there. I will be focusing on more close up work next, using the Rolleinar 2 magnifying lenses on the Rollei. They come in three strengths, one through three, with one being the least magnification and three for more exaggerated close ups. We are headed into a heat spell, which I hate. If I wanted to live like that I would live in Florida and not the otherwise cool U.P. near the shores of Lake Superior, which is usually a wonderful natural air conditioner.
“I remember when your name was just another name that rolled without thought off my tongue.
Now, I can’t look at your name without an abundance of sentiment attached to each letter.
Your name, which I played with so carelessly, so easily, has somehow become sacred to my lips.
A name I won’t throw around lightheartedly or repeat without deep thought.
And if ever I speak of you, I use the English language to describe who you were to me. You are nameless, because those letters grouped together in that familiar form….. carries too much meaning for my capricious heart.”
