I had mentioned in an earlier blog post that I was going to try the venerable combination of Kodak Tri-X and HC-110 Dilution B again, after nearly a 35 year lapse. Looking for something to replace PMK Pyro, due to the toxicity factor (in addition to uneven development in sky areas). This was my first film and developer combination when I learned the darkroom at IUSB in Mishawaka. The instructor was anything but a fine art photographer (sports photographer for the South Bend Tribune), but all I needed was to learn film development. Exceptionally pleased with the tonality of this film and developer combination. It was the only film and developer that Fred Picker used. He was instructed on the use of it by taking an Ansel Adams workshop in the early 70's. How fortuitous.
