Listening to NPR after arriving home from a grueling week and heard them say that today is the first day of winter. Leaves me wondering what the F it has been here with snow on the ground since late October? Perhaps just a Hard Fall…Van Morrison’s, Into the Mystic is playing on my JBL bluetooth speaker, which makes me smile for a couple of reasons….While I have never been a Christmas fan, I am looking forward to retrieving my grandsons for a week. They are easy to please here with about any activity, and very much appreciate being able to do many things (Pellet guns, cross country skiing, snowshoeing) here at Rauhallinen Farm that they cannot do at their home in Southwestern Michigan with their Grandmother (as it is more urban and a much more temperate climate). Easy to maintain hero Papa status :-)
While I have much to get done before I leave to get them, I hope to have time tomorrow to shoot a roll or two of 120 Kodak Portra 160 with the Hasselblad, as when they are here, I make it all about them, as was the case with my children at that age. It is a good investment that takes 20+ years to see a pay off….
