The image above was taken Sunday morning, while working with my 1960’s Rolleicord Vb, Type I, on the snowshoe trails at Wolverine Nordic Ski Trails in North Ironwood Township. It was produced entirely with the Hipstamatic application on my iPhone 7+, while taking a break from taking down the tripod and camera, before hitting the trail again.
What constitutes a photograph these days, in which the opportunity to view images is almost exponential. Is an image on a tablet, phone, LCD, computer monitor a photograph, or is only a print to be considered as deserving this moniker. Ansel Adams produced thousands of Gelatin Silver (black and white) prints, but he also had these images printed by the millions in calendars, posters, etc. Were those images not on photographic paper to be considered photographs?
