This brief walk in intermittent drizzle was the first time I have been in this nature sanctuary in well over a decade. Many good memories here in addition to one bad one (lost an expensive Pentax Digital Spot Meter in the 80’s that could never be found). Most of the scenes were like a remembered them with some changes due to wind storms and natural decomposition. If you enjoy wildflowers and are in the area, this is a special place during the bloom. Sounds like I just beat bad roads in southern Wisconsin yesterday by getting home early. Will be back in the woods with the cameras this weekend, after I get a firewood delivery on Saturday.
“For those who believe in God, most of the big questions are answered. But for those of us who can't readily accept the God formula, the big answers don't remain stone-written. We adjust to new conditions and discoveries. We are pliable. Love need not be a command nor faith a dictum. I am my own god. We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us.”
― Charles Bukowski
