The saddest aspect of life right now is that science gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom.

Another foot of snow today, which added to what is already on the ground, is burying the Western UP. Getting off the side of the road is like making a base camp attempt at Everest, even with snowshoes, as the piles are near vertical from the plows and front end loaders. More predicted for this weekend. If it is not snowing, my dear friend and I will be out shooting. She may hit Lake Michigan’s shoreline while I will be driving on the Ice Road across Lake Superior to Madeline Island in the Apostle Island Chain. I am still hoping for access to the ice caves near Cornucopia WI when we have safe enough ice such that the National Park Service opens access.
