Because of all of the rain we have had, our leaves peaked a bit early and are near half way down. Snowed lightly all afternoon-a bit too much for making images, even with the pinhole. In lieu of making art outside, I made a very large pot of homemade chicken vegetable soup to eat this evening and freeze in individual portions for other meals. Ingredients included roasted chicken, zucchini, yellow squash, celery, carrots, onion, cabbage, mushrooms, and seasonings. Warmed my bones on a chilly day.
Had a rare visitor at the bird feeder this afternoon, who very much stuck out from the throng of Juncos and Morning Doves that were ground eating-a large Fox Sparrow. Quite beautiful with his rusty top and streaked breast. Looked like he was enjoying his lunch as much as I am my soup and salad.
Time to do some dishes and head to the gym, before I can come up with a multitude of excuses as to why staying in a warm farmhouse makes more sense.
“Love is kind of like when you see a fog in the morning, when you wake up before the sun comes out. It’s just a little while, and then it burns away… Love is a fog that burns with the first daylight of reality.”
― Charles Bukowski
