My second day at Mayo Clinic and the longest day of appoinments. A HUGE place where all the medical professionals dress to the hilt and present as you would expect staff to look at the world's premeir healthcare facility. Know my way around a bit better today and have time between the three appointments to take in a nice walk in downtown Rochester. First Xray, then EMG, then a meeting with the neuro/ortho surgeon at 1400. The five hour drive down was simply beautiful, as google maps routed me on all country roads. Crossed the Mississippi at Red Wing, MN the home of redwing shoes and boots since 1847. Looked like Mark Twain could still walk down the street.
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”
― Mark Twain, The Innocents Abroad/Roughing It
