Freda-Lake Superior near Houghton, with my son many years ago following a huge heartbreaking loss, I was the size of a stick with a 32 inch waist. Wish I could do that minus the trauma, in such a short time. About to finish reading a unique book titled, "That Might Be Useful: Exploring America's Secondhand Culture" by Natan Leslie ( Hardcover – May 1, 2005). A very interesting and humorous read about everything from high end auctions to garage sales, with personal adventures when looking for antiques. Of course, I bought this hardcover seconhand as well, at Chequamegon books, which seems too apropos. Then on to Peter Geye's new hardcover called Wintering. Mr, Geye, a Northwoods author from the twin cities, hit it bigtime with this novel which he well deserves. I have read and enjoyed his two previous novels, "Safe from the Sea" and "The Lighthose Road" With this new release he has moved to international fame. As excited about this read as I used to be about a new Jim Harrison novel when he was still alive. I know you would enjoy his writing as much as I do.
