My father used to refer to Hollyhock as "Shithouse Flowers", I am supposing for their ubiquitous location next to outhouses in the old days. For some reason, I have had no luck with them at Rauhallinen Farm, as they always manage to get a fungal infection particular to this species. The gardens have peaked and are on the slow decline to fall. Archery season is just around the corner and Eric is quite excited, as his six pointer is a regular visitor, in addition to two four ponters and a spike. If we only bag one deer, it will be plenty of meat for both of us, as I ended up giving him more than half of my three pointer last year. I will let him have the blind first. My brother and his son will be hunting on county property near little girl's point. He will come up in September to scout out spots for both of their blinds, subtly mark trails to them, and allow me to begin feeding. I love Fall in the U.P.
