Beauty in all things blooming and flowering across the Northwoods. The flowering crab trees in the front yard are a blazing pink/purple, the Chokecherry are all flowering in my woods, as are the Lilac. Breathtaking visuals everywhere. On the down side, the mosquitos, black flies, and no-see-ums are voracious until July. The old addage is that here in the U.P. we shovel and swat winter, spring, and summer, resting in the fall to start over. My son, Eric will be here Thursday night late and we will meet Tom to trout fish one of his secret holes on the Jumbo River that holds 15-18 inch brook trout. Also on the docket is fishing Chequamegon Bay of Lake Superior at Ashland, WI for walleye and very large smallmouth, and Harding Lake for Northern Pike. As of this evening the boat is cleaned, tires aired up, and ready for her maiden voyage. Relaxing with a hot cup of herbal tea and in a peaceful state of mind. Hope the same for you.
