A special place at one time when this was taken with an Olympus RC. I don't own the RC any longer and the prairie is no longer at my doorstep or shared for a walk and conversation. I have an abundance of northwoods wildflowers across the season, from April until the first hard frost, but there are no prairies here. As noted by David Plowden, so many of the things that move us, either fall prey to the wrecking ball, or some other demise. Hang on to those things dear, and in the art world, don't make a mental note to come back some day to photograph, draw, or paint...it might not be there for you again.
"It scares me how hard it is to remember life before you. I can't even make the comparisons anymore, because my memories of that time have all the depth of a photograph. It seems foolish to plays games of better and worse. It's simply a matter of is and no longer."
David Levithan, The Lover's Dictionary
