In the western USA, this tree is referred to as Aspen, but here in the Upper Peninsula and the midwest, as Poplar. It is logged here for the paper mills, as it is of no use, being a softwood, for furniture or other uses that would find, oak, maple, etc. to be of value. Taken with my SX-70 many years ago on a business trip to Colorado that allowed me a free day to photograph in Rocky Mountain National Park. I have been re-scanning all of my previous SX-70 prints and touching things up for archival storage. Perhaps Aiden, Nolan, Eric, of one of his children in the future may be the curator and keeper of my life's portfolio.
