The ice on the Montreal River was solid enough near the edges, outside of the current, to allow for Benny and I to travel into the Superior Falls Gorge. The Falls are frozen solid, but there were some interesting reflections in the ice that made the trudge on snowshoes worthwhile. My most often used landscape lens remains the Canon 17-40L, for great depth of field and a near/far effect.
“There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more”
― George Gordon Byron
