"The robbed that smiles, steals something from the thief". ~William Shakespeare, Othello
My parents taught us this value...the ability to stand up to adversity and loss and not complain, whine as a lifestyle, quit, etc. To stay the course with a smile....and for them I am greatful. My oldest daughter, Antoinette, just exemplified this value, who at age 38, diagnosed with mulitiple sclerosis for a number of years, just completed her first Ironman competition in Mexico (26.22 mile run, 112 miles cycling, and 2.4 miles swimming). She has already completed more than a dozen marathons, but this was her first Ironman competition..... on a Cannondale of course. I am not so much proud of them for what they do, but who they are in character.....Each and every one of them in their own way, including their sister, Laurium, who has passed away. RJC would be smiling.
