This abandoned stamp mill is across the highway from the Quincy Dredge #2, a few miles east from Lake Linden. There are multiple buildings, including an engine house on this property, all dating back to the late 1800's when copper was king in the western U.P. My great grandparents made their living from the mines in Laurium/Calumet until they moved to Detroit following the strike of 1913-14. Everywhere you travel on the Keweenaw Peninsula you encounter ghosts of the past and an other world atmosphere. A very spiritual place for me to work. The Copal 0 shutter on the 150 G-Glaron took a dump on this trip and decided to stick on the slower shutter speeds.
