A real Fall Yooper day. Cool, drizzly, and overcast. Tomorrow predicts photographic light to die for, so both backpacks, tripods, and Benny will be loaded into the RAV4 two hours before dawn, and off we head for our annual Keweenaw Peninsula photographic, culinary, and wine tasting tour. From Houghton/Hancock, we will work up one coast and down the other, including many of my standard spots for making art. As is usual this time of year, the major tourist color spots will be crawling with Chinese, Japanese, Indian, and American tourists. Brockway Mountain Drive and Copper Harbor in particular. Good for our economy and the opportunity to have people, many of which who have never experienced wildnerness, perhaps change their ideas on how they perceive the earth. Chores performed all morning (last of the gardens leveled and back acre mowed, in addition to the 1/4 mile of woods trail) and deer hunting on the back acre this evening. Still no venison in the freezer, but all of archery yet, then rifle season, and if I had one, muzzle loader season after that. Lots of trout, walleye, bass, perch etc in the freezer to last until next year. Nice to see Donald Trump doing what he can do best to ruin his chances of election-just by being his megalomaniac self. I am far from a Hillary fan, but the altnerative is unthinkable.
