My friend Eve and I recently enjoyed the new Lenardo DiCaprio film, "The Revenant" at our local cinema. Based on a true story of an early 1800'a trapper, Hugh Glass, the film was incredibly suspenseful, with superb acting and exceptional cinematography. Mr. Glass was mauled by a grizzly and left for dead by a member of his own trapping party (played by Tom Hardy), who also kills his young son. He manages to survive and make it back over two hundred miles in the rockies (severe winter) to seek revenge. I suspect this film will win many Oscars. Highly recommended. Mr. DiCaprio, aside from being a successful and talented actor, is a very active environmentalist, who in 1998, created the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, in support of organizations and initiatives dedicated to securing a sustainable future for our planet. The organization has since raised more than 40 million dollars towards environmental efforts. Mr. Dicaprio, along with his father, recently met privately with Pope Francis, to offer further financial contributions to environmental issues.
