A foot of new snow overnight and across the day. About a two foot pile of snow in front of the drive from the snowplow when I got home. The Toyota RAV4 has been a great SUV for the Northwoods and just plowed through it without hesitation. The six cylinder engine in such a small SUV is quite powerful. I have taken this vehicle down some two tracks to brook trout fish in the Ottawa National Forest that I would not have taken my previous Jeep Cherokees down, without incident. Thinking about doing my annual Winter Pilgrimage to the birthplace of my maternal grandparents - the Keweenaw Peninsula, for a photographic adventure and the local cuisine. Always fun to stop in a remote yooper bar on the Keweenaw, have a beer and talk with the patrons or bartender.
“A good character is the best tombstone. Those who loved you and were helped by you will remember you when forget-me-nots have withered. Carve your name on hearts, not on marble.” ~Charles H. Spurgeon
