0430 and enjoying my first cup of joe and the early morning stillness. The dog has been out and is happily chewing one of his bones next to me. Scrambled eggs and bacon, a 30 minute bike ride on the trainer, then time to feed the outside wood boiler and think about getting dressed for the day. It has been a long week and I am looking forward to the warm (20's) weekend and the opportunity to do some river work with the Canon 5D Mark II. This trip will be with just Benny, as I am earnestly working on the Winter River II videography project. With one exception, I do not concentrate well when making art in the company of others. The mindfulness and concentration I find when working in solitude allow for a sharpening of the creative vision. Perhaps there is more than one person I could learn to work with, but I have not met them yet. My four year old Canon S95 took a crap on me when I finished shooing my grandson's visit during the holidays-the lens will not open. Sending it to Canon for repair tomorrow, as it is what I use for hunting, fishing, and pocket carry (for general snaps when the 5D cannot be carried).
