Enjoying a cup of tea with the New York Times and see that Sarah Palin announced her endorsement of fellow brainless megalomaniac, Donald Trump. One might suspect an astute businessman, as he portrays himself, would immediately recognize what her vice presidential pick did for John McCain-the kiss of death by having a running mate that could not find America on a map, let alone spell it. I feel so fortunate to have grown up in the era of Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, and even Richard Nixon for that matter, when politics were civil and both parties worked together. Today, our elected officials in both the Senate and the House are more akin to a reality TV show. I skip large portions of the headlines on a daily basis to preserve sanity and not ask for a divorce from my species. I start with the Arts section and book reviews, then carefully wade my way through the national and international headlines .....
This shot was taken at the top of interstate falls on the Montreal River, in what she used to call "the spooky woods." I would agree that one does feel a presence in this river-side forest, a feeling of not being alone. The temperature was -20F with windchill, so working without gloves was short-lived for just a couple of exposures. Without wind, subzero temps are not an issue.
Tom and Sharon are coming by for dinner this evening. Brocolli Cheddar soup in a bread bowl, Spinach Salad, Apple Sauce, and Raspberry-Filled Coffee Cake for afterwards with coffee and tea.
