"Science flies us to the moon. Religion flies us into buildings."
Met with my oncologist at the Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center for the first time today. He explained my cancer as being Neuroendocrine, which he stated can run a contiuum from relatively inactive (Sarcinoids) to extremely aggressive and deadly (small cell lung cancer which killed my mother). Mine is apparently in the middle-moderately aggressive. The good news, which I had previously garnered from the patholgy report interpreted by my surgeon was that there was no evidence it breeched the tumor and hit the lymph nodes. As such, they will be doing a chest X-Ray, along with an oncology exam every three months indefinitely (as there is still another metabolically inactive tumor in the left lung). All things considered, news worthy of moving on with life and enjoying my now complete recovery. It was being able to come back to Rauhallinen Farm that resulted in me doing what it took to get out of the hospital in record time, and it is the Farm that provides me with the peace, tranquility, and mindfulness that will promote continued remission. There is no more healing place on Earth for me than here in the wilderness in this 95 year old stone farmhouse, with my flowers, deer, bear, wolves, coyotes, fox, porcupine, racoons, (and the list goes on...).
