My retired neighbors in the farm across the road, Luanna and Colin are in Scotland for a wedding (Colin is from England). As Luanna watered for me while I was hospitalized, I am returning the favor by picking their raspberries and watering the tomato plants. They have nearly as many vegetable gardens as I have perennial beds, so between the two of us, we have the landscape well decorated here on Pump Station Rd. I worked for two hours brushing out the shooting slot at the site of my deer hunting blind. Also got half of my son's blind done. Starting now makes for less work in September. Archery season for deer opens October 1 and we want them to have plenty of time to get used to the cleared slots. Bought my seven year old grandson, Aiden, his first pellet rifle, as he has grown out of his BB gun. He can sit in my deer blind and plink squirrels and crows and learn how to be quiet. He will be elated at his early birthday gift. His younger brother, Nolan, will inherit the BB gun and be just as happy.
