Doris Wilma Carter (Dion) 1926-2006
If my mother would not have died from lung cancer that spread to her brain at 80, today would have been her 89th birthday. In conversation today with my brother while going on my evening walk, we both remembered her fondly for all that she did for both of us. She was an excellent parent, but above all, a kind, loving, and gentle woman, like her French Canadian parents. We were a family of expressed emotion. Always lots of hugging, kissing, and tight bonds.
"Mothers and their children are in a category all their own. There's no bond so strong in the entire world. No love so instantaneous and forgiving."
Gail Tsukiyama, "Dreaming Water"
