Too windy and cold to stay out long enough to make art comfortably today, so down to the studio with backdrop and lighting and a decorative subject from the main floor bathroom. Weston made a photographic series of his toilet, so I don't feel bad borrowing this for an HDR shot. I went to get my NIK Silver Efex software for the new computer and discovered that the product key no longer worked. Google has since bought the company, so I contacted customer service from their website. What an incredibly positive experience. They not only gave me the latest version of Silver Efex, but their entire suite of photo processing sofware, for being a long time customer. If I would have purchased each of these programs in a suite online, it would have cost me over $300. Thank you NIK for your generosity and exemplar customer support. The other piece of software good luck was finding that government employees qualify for purchasing the entire 2013 Microsoft Office Suite for $9.99. The new computer is finally all set up so that I can get back to work.
These cold days are wonderful for culinary activities in the kitchen. Made a very large bowl of stuffing for pigs in the blanket and stuffed peppers. The pigs in the blanket will be wrapped in blanched cabbage leaves, with the stuffing containing hamburger, salt pork, and white rice-a recipe handed down from my German paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Carter. Likely a half dozen stuffed peppers for the freezer and dozen or more pigs in the blanket. Nice to come home to meals that can be taken out of the freezer and baked or microwaved during the week. Benny enjoys the smells and any scraps that find their way to his always empty bowl.
