Winter is just around the corner. Time to change the oil in the snow blower and organize the barn so the trailer will fit inside, but allow room for the RAV4, pellets for the Harman XXV, etc. I was pleased with the Northern Lites Backcountry snowshoes last year. I am ordering their race model, which are small and a pair only weigh a pound. Will allow for running and fast tracking for exercise on the snowshoe trails at Wolverine Nordic Trails down the road from Rauhallinen Farm about five miles. Have acquired a zero degree sleeping bag to allow for more comfortable winter backpacking than my old North Face 15 degree bags. Benny gets in and goes to the bottom of the bag and is a natural heating pad for feet while winter camping. He loves the snow, or any adventure outdoors that involves hiking, for that matter. My son, Eric, will be here late next Thursday night for deer hunting and will stay until the following Wednesday, giving him a chance during bow and rifle season for his buck. Have not seen nearly as many deer as earlier in the season when I shot mine, so I hope things turn around. Hope to make some river photographs tomorrow both at the Presque Isle and Black rivers, if the sleet and rain tail off. Will be making wood at Tom and Sharon's on Sunday. Have a stellar weekend.
