If they migrate this far down from the Arctic, these fellows will not arrive till later in the winter. It is all a matter of the availability of the seed crop, with scarcity in the colder regions driving them further south of their native Arctic range. This fellow was captured on a window feeder some years back, in my prior residence. They are as affable as my Chickadees and were not at all bothered by me opening the window and placing the 100L macro lens inches from them while dining.
