Gathered these milkweed seeheads on a walk with Benny this afternoon. After five straight days of gale force wind, I was surprised to find any that had survived the onslaught. Time to hang up the rifle season for white tailed deer after another unsuccessful weekend. I have been invited to hunt at my friend, Tom's property in rural Ontonagon County, near the Jumbo river, for the muzzleloader seeaon which begins in the first Friday in December. As I don't own a muzzleloader, I will be borrowing one from his collection and hunt in one of their permanent blinds (what a luxury). Time to relax for the evening and read the Sunday New York Time, a most wonderful Sunday habit to wrestle with that five pound newspaper so despised by conservatives.
