My roomie, Benny, loves the snow and hates the heat-a common trait in Schnauzers. His great fun this time of the year is to dash from the patio door to the bird feeder, as fast as the snow will allow him, in high hope of catching his nemesis, the red squirrel. His daytime station when not sleeping upstairs on the bed is to lay in the sun by the sliding glass door, where he gets a commanding view of his territory and the comings and goings of all creatures who dare trespass in his yard. No deer hanging here from opening day, but I took off work Monday-Wednesday, so there will be more opportunity to get a buck for Eric. 0430, done with my coffee and getting ready to go back out to the blind.
