This Stamping Mill, which separated Copper from rock, existed across from Torch Lake, an extension of the Shipping Canal that divides the Keweenaw Peninsula in two, allowing access for large ships from Lake Superior to pass through. Quincy Dredge #2 sits offshore just across the street.
Can't continue stacking firewood as it has been raining solid for two days. Headed to the gym to at least feel useful for the evening. For me to pay for televsion (Dish) monthly is such a waste of money, but I keep it for when the grandkids come, and I do listen to the Sirius XM Spa station (New Age/Acoustic) through my stereo system, so I guess I am paying for that. I occasionally like the various Alaska Shows (LIfe Below Zero) and Live Free or Die on National Geographic Channel, but I am guessing my total TV time per month is less than three hours. Too many places to go, beautiful things to photograph, and books to read to drivel time away on that mindless fodder.
