I came across this lone young Aspen while photographing inside the Quincy Mine Stamp Mill, on the other side of M26 from Torch Lake and the half sunken Quincy Dredge #2. The tenacity of this tree, being able to grow in little sunlight and rubble struck me as a metaphor for our relationship over these last years, regardless of the present status. There is a strength that defies obfuscation, and a host of other maladies.
