The Spring migration has started in earnest in the Northwoods. In particular, the Slate-Colored Juncos are now passing through in large (and ravenous) flocks, on their way back to the Arctic regions. One large Fox Sparrow this evening as well, with buffy orange rump and very streaked breast. Would be nice if these migratory species would stay a bit longer, but evolution has resulted in a different course and end point. We will take what we get.
